Two days ago we sadly departed Pumamarca for Iruya commonly know as the Jewel of the north. We were not disappointed as Iruya is a beautiful little village hidden among the mountains. After some delay with Aerolines Argentinas we finally arrived into Salta. This city has a unique characteristic that sets is apart from the rest of the provinces in Argentina. We arrived into Lima from the Amazon Jungle and transferred to our hotel where we were given rooms to shower rest and repack before transferring to the airport for our to flight Iguazu Falls via Buenos Aires. Sadly we departed Cuzco after what was an incredible stay in what I think is the most beautiful city in Peru. Next stop Amazon! This is not a specific tourist track as such, but a walk through the spectacular Lares Valley in Peru’s. On one of the many tracks used by the local farming communities. We travelled from the village of Huanan (2840m) in the Sacred Valley, Sth of Peru, through the Lares Valley, gradually working our way higher and higher to the Pachacutec [….]

We departed Urumbumba for Ollyantatambo where we were to tranfer to a second vehicle to station number 82 were we were to take the train to Aguas Calientas. The floods in February caused massive damage to the railway tracks and road between Urumbumba and Station 82 evidence of this was seen along the way with erosion and several damaged railway [….]

We departed our hotel in Urumbumba for a 35 minute drive to the start of our trek to the Indian Community village of Misminay situated at 3700 mtts.
