WEDDING OF THE YEAR

Pokhara – The city was alive with excitement – a Western wedding was about to take place. Two of my clients from the Gokyo trek loved Nepal so much that they decided to tie the knot in Pokhara. Unlike Western weddings which take months to plan and book, this took 4 hours of preparation. Bill and Margaret arrived in Chitwan from Pokhara at 2pm the wedding was set for 5pm, in 3 hours Margaret was fitted for a Nepalese traditional red Sari, her makeup and hair done professionaly, Bill was fitted for a suit, fortunately he is the same size as a Nepalese. Thanks to our guides assistance a Nepalese Cultural band was booked to arrive at 4pm, a Hindu priest was booked, a car arranged to take the couple to the lake, where they were to board a canoe which would take them to an island and famous Hindu Temple, situated in the middle of Fewa Lake. Attending the ceremony were our group of trekkers and 1/2 the city of Pokhara turned out to celebration. After the ceremony we celebrated in one of Pokhara’s lakeside restaurants named
” Boomarang”. The following day the wedding was published in the Pokhara Newspaper and featured on televisiaon. Congratulation Margaret and Bill from Lyn Taylor’s Adventure Travel.
If anyone would like to tie the top somewhere different why not go to Nepal we can arrange a stress free wedding with only a few hours notice.
