HOLA FROM STH AMERICA

A small group of women adventure traveller’s set off to Sth America last week.
“We are all enjoying  Santiago! Have been here a week and walked and walked and walked! We travelled up to play in the snow in the Andes on a very exciting bus ride of 60 hairpin bends to 3000m and on the way down, a wheel came off the bus! We survived and it is all part of the adventure including having my backpack stolen today in the Bohemian, student, arty, cafe part of the city – oh well, nothing too much to deal with. We met some lovely carabineros ! So helpful and friendly Went to the Andes and Valparaiso. Discovered free walks for tips – great way to see a city – apparently in many cities including Sydney so intend to do it when I come home but first must fly to Peru tomorrow for a 3 weeks Peruvian Adventure trip with Lyn Taylor’s Adventure Travel. Wonder what their national drink is?  Pisco sours are great in Chile. oops! I have just been informed by a friend that  Pisco sours are from Peru! (Pisco is a town on the coast where “pisco” is from) inca kola is the soft drink, chicha is a fermented corn drink.  We will enjoy the sours, except must remember hangovers are worse with altitude, and age!
