Village living Nepal

We are now on Pokhara after spending a fabulous 3 days at my favourite place in Nepal Darje village. It is a long tuff 9 hour drive to get to the village, but once there, worth the journey. It is such a pleasure to be part of the Ghale family enjoying their simple farming lifestyle. Although the work is punishingly hard these people know how to reap the rewards.

During our stay we also hiked to surrounding villages to check out how the schools we support are coping. The villages are a hive of activity with many new homes being constructed with the assistance of a Government fund of $3000 and low interest loan. Assistance has been a long time coming, but now eventually these people are starting to return to a normal like after the earthquake in April 2015. Although they gave electricity there is no tv, nor wifi, it is so refreshing to see the children singing, laughing, playing and getting their clothes grubby.

After a delicious meal cooked by our host TB and his beautiful family we would sit around the table and play a game of cards, have a few laughs looking at photos of previous trips. Sadly the days went all too fast as we said goodbye to our hosts, and hiked 4 hours downhill to Arughat and our Jeep to Pokhara. In perfect weather conditions we will depart on our Annapurna Base Camp trek
