We arrived in th e Phobija Valley with views of the  picturesque Black Mountain range the farmland below was covered with 300 plus black necked cranes  We travelled to Trongsa and visited the Trongsa Dzong, the masterpiece of Bhutanese architecture, further on our travels towards Bumthang we  stopped  at a yethra (textile weaving) shops, where the yathras are designed with [….]

Scenery and laughs abound.  Our guide Dendup is unbelievably patientwith a group of 40+ rowdy Australians.  The vibe is great andeveryone really enjoying themselves – even the little glitches likethe door handle falling off.  Bhutanese are great. 

Bhutan – day 1.  What a way to arrive!  Views onto MtEverest and the Himalayas and then a drop onto what is one of theshortest runways in the world (or so it feels).  We were met by ourguides wearing traditional ghos and having wonderful names like“Lotus”, “One who will succeed” and “Victory”.  It took all of 5seconds for all the [….]

Four of us landed at Paro airport on Bhutan’s National airline Druk Air, our flight from Kathmandu was sensational perfect weather and spectacular view of Everest, Kanchenjunga it was a perfect day for flying between these two Himalayan countries.  We were  welcomed  by the smiling faces of Pema and his staff who presented us with beautiful white scarfs of greeting.
