4 DAYS WALK TO SANTIAGO DC

Today was a day of varied terrain and certainly many more pilgrims on the trail as the town of Sarria is the   the joining of  other pilgrim trails and where many people begin their 100klm walk to Santiago.
The  rule is to gain your certificate you must walk the last 100klm. Our group have mixed feelings about doing the last 100klm but most certainly will try to push themselves to walk at least 25 klms for the next 4 days.  No pain no gain! On arrival in Palas De Rei we then took a detour to visit the Volas de Donas church and national monument and ancient seat of Knights of Santiago its frescoes and stone carvings are very impressive as well the quaint country lanes one must travel to visit the church. Our accommodation tonight is a wonderful restored 18 century farm once visited by Gwenyth Patlow on one of here cooking expeditions.
