MARRAKECH ATLAS MOUNTAINS

Today we visited the village of Imlil situated at the foothills of the Atlas Mountains. we stopped at Tahanouet village to visit a Berber country market selling vegetables cereals, olive oil sellers, blacksmiths and medicine men gather under canvas and reed sheolters. The High Atlas the greatest mountain range in North Africa, is perhaps the most beautiful and intriguing part of Morocco. It has retained a remoteness which until recent decades was virtually complete, and contains villages where the way of life has changed little for centuries. We were surprised when we encountered the friendliness and openness of the villagers as we rode our mules high into the mountains. the landscape has a stunning natural beauty. We ended our day at Mzig lunching in a Kasbah enjoying magnificient mountain vistas. Such an enjoyable last day in Morocco and tomorrow we sadly leave to this incredible country.
