The ancient landscape of Australia’s Northern Territory is abundant with natural beauty. It boasts magnificent gorges, high ridges with breathtaking views, and peaceful waterholes. The Larapinta Trail Walk offers over 600 species of plants and an abundance of wildlife. Not to mention a glimpse of the longest continuous cultural history in the world, the Arrente People, who have been in the region for the last 50,000 years.
This tour is suitable for beginners, and is pack-free! The 5-day itinerary has been designed so you can focus on enjoying the amazing landscapes, not the burden of carrying a heavy pack. Best of all, you get to soak up the local knowledge of our indigenous guest guide along the way.
Experience camping under the stars! First up, you will start your trip with the luxury of settling into walk-in tents and comfy off-the-ground beds. Before turning in for the night, enjoy a superb dinner around the campfire perfectly matched with fine Australian wines and beer.
Then, after a few days of walking, you will be rewarded with a 2-night stay at the historic Glen Helen Homestead. Finally kicking back and relaxing beside a warm cozy fireplace.
You will complete your journey at a charming restaurant featuring award-winning food and live entertainment in the main lounge area on many nights. We know you’ll love the atmosphere of the homestead, as well as its comfortable rooms with en-suites and hot showers.
This tour includes a spectacular helicopter flight with amazing views of the West MacDonnell Range, Glen Helen Gorge, Finke River, Ormiston Gorge, Mt Sonder, and Gosse Bluff. There is nothing like seeing the Larapinta from the air to gain a perspective of its grandeur and beauty.
This tour is an amazing experience of which everyone in the group will treasure for years.
Difficulty: This trip is suitable for someone with a beginner level of fitness, leaving your pack to be transported to your next camping site makes this even more enjoyable. For more general information on what to expect, visit our Adventure Travel FAQ.
