Arrived Annapurna Base Camp in perfect conditions everyone feeling strong. This place has not changed in 10 years. Many foreign tourists including Nepali’s who have recently discovered trekking which is great for Nepal’s economy.

Yesterday we departed Pokhara by road to the start of the trail head for out trek to Annapurna Base Camp. Our first day to Deurali via Australian Camp was beautiful way to start the trek. I was so excited to greet my nephew Glenn and his beautiful daughter Zara last night at Kathmandu airport. Christine who has traveled on Lyn Taylor’s Adventure Travel Nepal trips 4 times, and visited Nepal 9 times arrived today, Nina another Nepal veteran arrives in a few days. Tomorrow we depart at 630am for our gruelling 8-12 hour overland drive to Darje village [….]

Each day the view from our tent is becoming more and more hazy from the smoke. Today is another Government holiday, if they reduced the holidays in Nepal the country would be in a better financial position. Today we decided with the Principsl that the children on their day off have a working bee, by collecting all the rubbish on [….]

We are now towards the end of our trip and have travelled on to Chitwan in the south of Nepal. This morning we got up and were transported to an elephant sanctuary where we took a 1 hour jungle ride through the Royal Chitwan National Park on the back of the beautiful “Lakshmi”, a 35 year old Asian elephant, weighing [….]
